tUnit
tUnit puts text on a vehicle — a unit number, a callsign, a department name. You place each element on the car with a 3D gizmo, and it replaces uNumber / uNumberProps (2022).
An element carries letters, digits and - . _ / #, up to 24 characters, in any of three shipped fonts.
What it is not
- Not a livery system. Text only.
- Not per-client. Everyone near the car sees the same text.
- Not a framework resource. No database; values come from a function you write in
config/sv_sources.lua. - One dependency. tLib v1.0 or newer, which is free. Nothing else.
Limits to know before you install
The first three are fixed, not settings. Troubleshooting covers each.
- Distant text aliases, and bigger cells make it worse.
- 32 distinct strings on screen. Every car showing
114in the same font shares one. - One streaming slot, pinned for the session.
- 96 planes on screen (
Config.render.maxPropsOnScreen). Past it the nearest are kept.
