Failed to Verify Protected Resource
Fixing the "Failed to verify protected resource" error in FiveM.
Error Message
[svadhesive] Failed to verify protected resource your_resource
Possible Causes
The .fxap file is required for escrow-protected resources. It's a hidden file and some FTP
programs skip it.
FileZilla damages escrow-protected files during transfer. Some hosting providers use FileZilla internally as well.
Dragging the folder through Remote Desktop or an FTP client file-by-file corrupts the escrow
files. Always upload the .zip and extract on the server.
The download from the CFX Portal was incomplete or corrupted. Re-download and compare file sizes.
Solutions
Fresh download and upload
- Download the script again from the CFX Portal
- Upload using WinSCP — not FileZilla
- Make sure hidden files (including
.fxap) are transferred - Restart the server
Verify the .fxap file exists
In WinSCP, enable Show hidden files (Options → Preferences → Panels → Show hidden files), then navigate to the resource folder and confirm .fxap is present.
Disable anticheat
Some anticheat systems dump or modify Lua files, which breaks escrow protection. Temporarily disable your anticheat to test. If that fixes it, configure your anticheat to exclude the resource folder.
Update server artifacts
Make sure your server is on artifacts version 4752 or higher. Run version in the server console to check.
See Syntax Error / Error Parsing → Update server artifacts for update instructions.
