Wraith ARS 2X: Modeled on the Stalker DSR 2X, per its README
Antennas and windows
tRadar: Front and rear antennas, each with a target window and a fast window
Wraith ARS 2X: Front and rear antennas, each showing a strong target and a fast target
Locking
tRadar: Each window locks independently. Optional auto-lock: with a limit set in /tradar, an antenna with no lock takes one when a reading reaches that limit, fastest window first.
Wraith ARS 2X: Lock per antenna, with an optional automatic lock above a set speed
Modes and lanes
tRadar: Moving and stationary modes. Lane filter cycles opposite, both, off and same.
Wraith ARS 2X: Separate sensitivity for same-direction and opposite-direction traffic
Bands and audio
tRadar: X, K and Ka bands with doppler audio derived from the band
Wraith ARS 2X: Radar sounds, verbal lock confirmation ("Front Closing") and plate reader beeps
Error modeling
tRadar: Patrol-speed shadowing ships on. Calibration tolerance is modeled and ships off. Both can be turned off.

Self-test and calibration
tRadar: Power-on self-test and a tuning fork command
Wraith ARS 2X: Not listed
Speed units
tRadar: mph or km/h, set per player and remembered
Wraith ARS 2X: mph and km/h
Where the display lives
tRadar: A prop on the vehicle's dash. Nearby players can read it and hear it.
Wraith ARS 2X: On-screen radar, remote and plate reader, with adjustable scale and safe zone
Passengers
tRadar: Passengers and nearby officers can read the dash unit. The front passenger can also work the keypad if they pass the same access check.
Wraith ARS 2X: Front passenger can view and control the radar and plate reader (configurable)
Plate reader
tRadar: Optional, off by default. Front and rear windows that show and lock plates; it never decides what a plate means.
Wraith ARS 2X: Front and rear plate reader that locks plates
BOLO and CAD

When Wraith ARS 2X may fit better
- You want a free, open-source radar you can modify.
- You want a radar that shows speeds clearly without officers learning to spot shadowing or calibration error.
- You want the front passenger to control the radar.
- You already use Sonoran CAD's Wraith plugin.
- You'd rather run a stable release than a beta.
Common questions
- Why does tRadar sometimes read the wrong speed?
- On purpose. In moving mode, a large vehicle ahead can drag the patrol reading, the way it does on a real unit, and the patrol window shows it happening. It ships on because learning to catch it is part of using the radar. Set Config.patrolShadowPull = 0 to turn it off.
- Will my officers find it too complicated?
- tRadar is built to be learned like real equipment: pick a lane, choose which window to lock, and know when a reading can't be trusted. The full documentation is public before you buy, and you can try it on the test server.
- Does tRadar work with radar detectors?
- Yes. tRadar publishes its band, frequency, range and mode so a detector can work out its own warning distance. tDetector already reads it.
- Is the plate reader a BOLO system?
- It shows and locks plates. It flags a plate only when your CAD or the built-in BOLO list says to, and it never shows "clear", because no answer isn't the same as a clean plate.
- tRadar is in beta. What does that mean?
- It's in use and it works, but the feature set is still changing between releases. Updates are included for as long as the product is offered.
